Jasmine D. Collins

Assistant Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator in College of ACES at Illinois

As a leadership educator and higher education scholar, it is Dr. Collins' mission to educate, empower, and equip emerging adults to lead as agents of transformative change and social justice within their industries, communities, and broader spheres of influence. Critical theory and praxis are central to Dr. Collins's work as she interrogates the ways leadership is understood, taught, studied and practiced in postsecondary education. She is particularly interested in understanding the experiences, opportunities and resources that support college students in their development as leaders and engaged citizens in light of sociological factors such as identity, social group membership, sociopolitical context, institutional structure, and campus racial climate.
